What? A new Halo game this soon after Halo 4? No, it’s not Halo: Spartan Assault or that Halo Television Series, this is a full-fledged follow-up to Halo 4, even if it’s not called Halo 5.
The bombshell was dropped near the end of Microsoft’s E3 2013 Media Briefing, and while they didn’t give many details, they did show off this gorgeous, truly next-gen trailer for the game. In true 343 Industries fashion, it begins to tease something completely foreign and it then becomes a Halo game. Wow.
The game is launching in 2014 exclusively for Xbox One, though we’re unsure of why it isn’t called Halo 5. Sure, 343 Industries has up the reigns, and maybe they don’t want to fall victim to the sequelitis every other company seems to have nowadays. Of course, it could be that they haven’t decided on the final name to not have a subtitle, though even that would be out of the ordinary given that no mainline Halo game, save for the first one, has ever had a subtitle.
It is early, though the game is launching in 2014, presumably on the one year anniversary of Xbox One, which is launching in November, likely to coincide with the November 15th launch of the original Xbox back in 2001.
