UPDATE: Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Ghosts will indeed be heading to current-generation consoles as well as next-gen consoles, though the next-gen consoles will be running on an entirely new engine. Will this delay the development of the game or does it still mean that at least one of the next-gen consoles will be launching in early-November? It’s too early to tell, but we will be getting more at Microsoft’s #XboxReveal event on May 21st. Take a look at the teaser for the game:
Original story:
That’s the tagline if you head over to the official Call of Duty website or this Facebook page put up by Infinity Ward just last night (the page was activated February 27th).
The CoD website shows a mosaic of various profile pictures seemingly sourced from Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Google+. Could this be a nod to the new multiplayer experience that was hinted at in the leak video we reported on at the end of March?
The website is pretty barren right now, with a faint ghosts logo in that mosaic style, and a button in the top right urging users to the full website which has nothing about Ghosts listed. Last year, Activision did a reveal of Black Ops II on May 1st and followed that up with more information over the following days, and then a full reveal at Microsoft’s Press Conference at E3 2012. We’re expecting the same kind of thing now, but it makes sense that Ghosts is what it is after all the leaks that we’ve seen so far.
There’s no word yet on platforms the game will be on, nor is there a release date or any gameplay footage available.
Stay tuned as we follow Activision and Infinity Ward for more details. Happy May!
