Ahead of the game’s upcoming release, Square-Enix has uploaded the launch trailer for its Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. It’s a looker to say the least.
Promising a unique three-dimensional feel with 2D, pixel-based environments, this remake brings the 1988 classic RPG to current-gen consoles and PC. Originally developed by Chunsoft and published by Enix, it was called Dragon Warrior 3 when it became available for North American NES consoles. Previous remakes were created for Super Famicom and Game Boy Color, while the game was also made available on mobile phones and the Wii.
This latest remake is based on Octopath Traveler’s style, and was announced during 35th anniversary celebrations.
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake will again usher in the beginning of the Erdrick Trilogy on November 14th. It’s coming to PS5, Xbox Series, PC and Nintendo Switch.
Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remakes are expected in 2025.
