Microids has been a player in the French video game industry for close to 40 years now. Today, they’ve announced that they’re offering assistance to select other partners, through a ‘Third-Party Publishing’ division.
The first title they’ve confirmed for this new venture is The Precinct, from developer Fallen Tree Games Limited and publisher Kwalee.
In The Precinct, players will play as rookie officer Nick Cordell Jr. in 1980s America. They must navigate warring gangs, urban decay, and police corruption in their quest to restore order to a troubled city. On the ground, that means patrolling and policing a city full of procedurally-generated crimes, from parking violations to bank heists, in an effort to keep citizens safe for one more day.
Stéphane Longeard, CEO of Microids, states: “We are delighted to announce the creation of our ‘Third-Party Publishing’ division, which will allow us to extend our expertise to new partners while strengthening relationships with our long-standing collaborators. These strategic partnerships demonstrate our ability to work with major industry players, bringing exceptional diversity and quality in gaming experiences to our audience. We are especially excited to bring the retail versions of The Precinct to a global audience and to continue enriching our catalog with iconic titles.”
Ben Forrester, VP of Publishing, PC & Console at Kwalee said: “We are thrilled to partner with Microids to bring The Precinct to a wider audience. Their expertise in physical distribution aligns perfectly with our vision for the game, and, together, we’re committed to delivering an exceptional gaming experience that resonates with fans everywhere.”
