Call of Duty: Black Ops 6:

The next Call of Duty — which is being developed by the veterans at Treyarch — kicked off the show with a visceral gameplay trailer. It showed a post-Cold War world, new settings and the characters that live within it.

After the main presentation ended, a Black Ops direct began. During it, the team behind this year’s game shared lots of details, including:

  • There will be 16 maps
  • Zombies will return, with two maps, and will continue the Dark Aether storyline
  • They’ve gone back to a classic prestige system, with ten levels, but have added a bonus, 1000 level, master system
  • Enemies will have 9 hit zones instead of 4, and will die accordingly
  • They’ve greatly improved the movement using omnimovement and intelligent movement
  • The campaign hub will be in an old farmhouse, where you can explore, go over intel and look at mission details
  • Players can approach missions how they want to
  • Enemies will be smarter and more aggressive
  • One campaign mission will take place inside a casino and another will take place in the tundra of northern Russia
  • There will be dialogue options
  • Theatre mode returns

The game will be released on October 25th, and will be a day one Game Pass title.

Fable:

“What does it mean to be a Hero? Well, in the fairytale land of Albion, that is entirely up to you,” says the game’s product description. “With a dark threat looming, and in a world where your reputation precedes you, your choices will change Albion forever.”

We were given a look at the next Fable today, and discovered that it’s going to be released in 2025. Not soon enough for our liking!

DOOM: The Dark Ages:

Well, the rumours were correct: a new DOOM game is in development, and they’re calling it DOOM: The Dark Ages. It’s a prequel to the last two games, and will take place during a medieval war against Hell.

The Dark Ages will represent the (single player) cinematic origin story of the DOOM Slayer’s rage. Those who play it will be able to wreak havoc and tear down demons using familiar weapons like the super shotgun, as well as a brand new shield saw. Hell, you’ll even be able to get atop a massive mecha dragon, and use it to pulverize enemies.

Expect to play this one in 2025, when it comes to Xbox, Game Pass, PC and PS5.

A new trailer showcased an important cinematic moment, during which Indiana Jones and Gina Lombardi make a discovery deep in the Himalayas.

Starfield’s June update also goes live tonight, for free. It adds Creations, new bounty hunting features, enhanced melee combat and new Trackers Alliance missions.

Creations brings official mod support to Starfield. Players can now discover and play new content from Creators and Bethesda Game Studios directly in-game through the Creations menu. The Creation Kit, the official toolkit for Starfield, is also now available to download for free on Steam and puts the power to create new content in the community’s hands. Anyone in the community can make Creations and upload them to the Creations platform.
