Disney has released the first trailer for the upcoming Star Wars limited series, Obi-Wan Kenobi.
With themes from the prequel trilogy (Duel of the Fates coming in strong on this one), we’re treated to our best look yet of our titular character, played by none other than Ewan McGregor, as well as Uncle Owen (Joel Edgerton), and a young Luke Skywalker, among other unique Star Wars galaxy-building characters.
New characters such as Moses Ingram’s Inquisitor Reva are also shown off, seemingly hunting down Jedi on Tatooine as he threatens Uncle Owen.
Given that this series takes place as Obi Wan Kenobi is watching and protecting Luke as a young boy, much of the plot seems to be focused around the Sith hunting Jedi, and there is no doubt that the Empire is hunting them hard.
While we know that Hayden Christiansen is returning to the role of Darth Vader, his cloaked character was not present in the trailer. Other cast members such as Sung Kang and Kumail Nanjiani are also absent from this first look.
Obi-Wan Kenobi arrives to a galaxy far, far away Disney+ on May 25.
