EA makes Dead Space Remake official, releases spooky teaser

It’s been a long wait, but there’s something exciting on the horizon for those of us who love horror and its interactive iterations. Yes, the long-rumoured and previously hinted at Dead Space Remake has finally been confirmed in an official capacity! It’s also received its first teaser trailer, to boot.

This new, rebooted take on Dead Space will be next-gen only, meaning that it’ll only be playable on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. Hopefully the consoles will be more readily available by the time it launches, so that those with interest won’t have to wait any longer. Then again, there’s likely going to be quite a while between now and then.

Several years after Dead Space 3 — the most contested of the trilogy — was released, Electronic Arts shut developer Visceral down. At the time, fans were worried that this meant Dead Space would, for lack of a better term, be dead as a result. Thankfully, that’s not the case, although it’s now four years later and we’re just getting first word regarding a new iteration.

This next-gen remake is currently in the works at EA Motive, and doesn’t have a release window or release date as of yet. We’ll keep you posted, though! For now, check out its beautiful, creepy, disturbing and interest piquing teaser trailer.
