Xbox 20/20 is a monthly update series for the future of Xbox

In an ever-changing, E3-less world, Microsoft this morning announced Xbox 20/20, the company’s new monthly programming that will highlight the latest updates in the world of Xbox.

From Xbox Wire:

Starting with the May 7 episode of Inside Xbox, we will be showcasing what happens next in the world of Xbox, every month, which is why we’re calling it “Xbox 20/20.” These monthly moments will take place throughout the rest of the year and will be a way for us to engage, connect and celebrate with you about what’s in store for the next generation of gaming, including what’s next for Xbox Series X, Xbox Game Studios, Xbox Game Pass and Project xCloud. Every month will bring something different. Stay tuned to Xbox Wire for more details.

To confirm what we heard last week, the Inside Xbox episode this coming Thursday will be showcasing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla as well as what other third-party developers have been up to and are planning for Xbox Series X.

In addition, the show will confirm which games will feature the Smart Delivery system, which allows games purchased for Xbox One to be automatically upgraded to the Xbox Series X version for no cost. This will include 4K resolution up to 120 frames per second, hardware-based ray tracing and load time improvements, and other Series X features. It was also confirmed that every game in the May 7th showcase will be Xbox Series X optimized.

While there is a June event also planned according to the post which indicates the cadence of Xbox 20/20 will be monthly, it won’t be until July that we get to see what Xbox Game Studios developers have been working on.

In July, we will dedicate time to focus on the incredible games coming from Xbox Game Studios. A number of our studio teams are looking forward to sharing first looks at new gameplay, insights from development teams being optimized for Xbox Series X, and brand-new game announcements.

While this is a month later than usual for big game reveals, it does not mean that we won’t get glimpses of games we already know about, such as Halo Infinite, which the console manufacturer says is on track to launch alongside the console this holiday season.

Last week, we posted our predictions for the upcoming event, including the games we hope to see, and unfortunately the ones we don’t have any hope whatsoever to get any sort of glimpse at.

What games and other features are you excited to see as Xbox 20/20 invades the gaming space for the next six months? Let us know in the comments below!
