We’re going to go out on a limb and say that Activision, with the help of Infinity Ward, will be putting out a new Call of Duty title in time for the holiday season next year. They’ve done it every year for the past six in a row, and they’re not showing any signs of stopping.
Well, we’re going to go out on another limb here and tell you the release date for the new game:
November 12, 2013
Check your calendars because that day is a typical game-releasing Tuesday, and it lets the developer and publisher effectively advertise that their game will launch on 11/12/13. Activision has been using interesting date nomenclature for a while now with its Call of Duty series, and there’s no reason they would stop now.
Of course, we don’t know what game is going to be next, although we have an idea, but regardless, you can bet that Activision won’t be skipping a year of development for any reason.
Oh, and while we’re at it, we may as well tell you that the same Tuesday falls on remembrance day in 2014. Perhaps World at War 2 would be a good tie-in for the 11/11/14 date, even if no one really likes that game the way they like the Modern Warfare and Black Ops games.
