Just over a month remains before Bigben intends to bring WRC 8 to retail and digital store shelves. For this reason, the developer has opened up about the racing simulator’s different editions, pre-order incentives and all related things.
WRC 8 may not be releasing until September 5th (except for on Switch, which will get it in October), but folks who pre-order a certain version of the game will be entitled to forty-eight hours’ worth of early access. No matter which version they purchase, fans will also receive the RWD Legends pack, which includes legendary cars from bygone eras: the Lancia 037, the last rear-wheel drive car to win the World Rally Championship, and the Porsche 911 GT3 RS RGT, a powerful monster of a rally car. Switch owners will even receive a themed sleeve for their console.
What about these aforementioned editions?
Well, WRC 8 will be sold in Standard, Collector’s and Digital Deluxe versions. You can see what each one offers by looking at the chart above, but it’s as you’d expect. The Digital Deluxe Edition grants users 48 hours’ worth of early access, as well as senior staff members and an additional Legends car pack. Meanwhile, the more expensive retail collector’s edition promises 3 months’ worth of WRC+ All Access Live ‘free access’ and a steelbook case, in addition to the bonuses found in the Digital Deluxe Edition. Not the early access, though, meaning that anyone who wants to play this thing early will have to go digital.
