Electronic Arts didn’t hold a traditional press conference at E3 2019. Instead, the publisher opted to go with a lengthy livestream that would give each of its chosen games a chance to shine within a controlled form of presentation. The result was EA Play 2019.
The stream’s biggest and most talked about draw was certainly Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which was given a lot of time. Its developers got a chance to speak, and they showed some pretty impressive gameplay, too. Footage that highlighted some new Jedi powers and traversal abilities that haven’t been prominent in previous Star Wars games. Things like climbing, wall running and slowing down time in order to deftly reflect laser beams back at enemy stormtroopers.
One of the most impressive facets of this demo, though, happened to be Fallen Order‘s lighting system. When the main character entered into a dark area, be it a cave or what have you, he was able to use his lightsaber to light up the area around him. It looked great, and really stood out.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is expected to release on November 15th.
