Have you been curious about Blackout, yet unwilling to spend money on Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 because you’re unsure if it’s for you? Well, you’ll soon have a chance to form a proper opinion of the new fangled mode, thanks to an upcoming free trial that Activision has announced and started promoting.
Black Ops 4‘s much talked about campaign killer and new focus will be made free for trial purposes, starting on January 17th. Said free trial will only run for a week, though, and will conclude on the 24th.
Blackout is, of course, the series’ new battle royale mode. Within its large-scale confines, players are dropped into a massive map and left to their own survival skills. That means having to forage your own weapons, ammo and med kits, while trying to survive in a mode that only offers one life.
Staying on the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 front, it’s worth mentioning that the game also received some updates on console (and will later on PC). They added:
- Debut of Gauntlets and new Elixirs in Zombies on PS4
- A new week of Featured Playlists and the addition of Elevation and Madagascar to map rotation for Black Ops Pass owners in Multiplayer
- New-and-improved console looting interface in Blackout
- And “much more”
