It is well known that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will introduce the series’ largest offering of Zombies modes and storylines to date. Details and footage haven’t been as readily available as one would’ve hoped, though, because Treyarch and Activision have been taking their time and spacing out the reveals.
Today, we discovered that the studio and its publisher partnered with hard rock group, Avenged Sevenfold, to create a theme song for Black Ops 4‘s Zombies story, ‘IX.’ An interesting looking narrative that seems to feature themes that mix the future with the past, specifically the Roman empire and its gladiator arenas. At least, that’s what the mode’s new music video suggests.
What this lengthy look also shows us is a wealth of human versus zombies combat, featuring bullets, fire traps and changing undead. You’ll see zombies shed their skin and become something greater, and will also get to watch as the main characters come up against special boss zombies.
See below for the Call of Duty-infused music video for Avenged Sevenfold’s ‘Mad Hatter.’
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be released on October 12th, and will usher in a more multiplayer-centric take on the series.
