After all of the rumours, merchandise leaks and such, Activision has finally let the cat out of the bag by confirming that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is, indeed, real. That, as well as the fact that it will be this year’s annual franchise iteration.
The announcement wasn’t made subtly, as you’ll see below. A live reveal took place this evening, wherein a group of shielded welders used their torches to cut out and define the game’s familiar logo. Well, the Black Ops III logo with one additional orange Roman numeral. After that, the shield turned digital and began to show short snippets of gameplay, which seem to hint at a futuristic setting.
Carrying a tagline that reads, “Forget what you know,” Black Ops 4 is described as “a game changing experience” by its publisher. We’ll find out more about it on May 17th, which is when its full reveal happens to be scheduled for.
Forget what you know.
