July is poised to be a big month for PlayStation Plus subscribers, especially those who’ve yet to play one of the PlayStation 4’s best games.
Today, it was announced that Telltale’s episodic Game of Thrones series will join Supermassive Games’ choose-your-own-horror, Until Dawn, as the two highlights of next month’s freebies list. Together, they will form the month’s impressive PS4 offerings, while a handful of other decent, but less noteworthy options will round out its PS3/Vita options.
PlayStation 3 owners can look forward to being able to download Tokyo Jungle and Darkstalkers Resurrection, both of which were somewhat noteworthy when they released. Meanwhile, the Vita will be given Element4! and Don’t Die, Mr. Robot, the latter of which is also a PS4 cross-buy title.
PlayStation Plus subscribers can also download the party game, That’s You, without incurring a charge from July 4th until October 24th. This freebie is part of a separate promotion, which is trying to get people to use Sony’s new PlayLink (PS4 to mobile connection) system.
That isn’t all, though, as there’s one more thing that will have its price reduced to zero dollars next month. It’s worth noting that Orcs Must Die: Unchained players will also be able to download skins, currency packs and more from July 18th until August 17th. The game, itself, is set to begin its closed beta on July 18th.
Needless to say, the first true month of summer is going to be a busy one for PlayStation fans. Whereas Game of Thrones would be a good get during any normal month, it’s greatly overshadowed by the news that one of the best games of this generation will soon to be free-to-download. Of course, we’re talking about Until Dawn, which is a must play for anyone who originally missed it.
