Square Enix has found a surprisingly effective way to expand their Western franchises into the mobile market, with the GO line of games that has adapted properties like Hitman and Deus Ex for iOS and Android. Among those mobile favourites is Lara Croft GO, and at today’s PlayStation Experience keynote, it was confirmed that Lara Croft GO would be surprise-releasing today on the PlayStation Store for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita! This has the game following mobile sibling, Hitman GO, which also eventually got ported to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, after debuting as a timed exclusive on iOS and Android, with a Windows PC and Windows Mobile release also proceeding the PlayStation builds.
Like Hitman GO, Lara Croft GO will be cross-buy for its PlayStation release, awarding the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions together with a single purchase of either. The game is a turn-based, board game-style, isometric revision of Tomb Raider gameplay, blending puzzle and strategy to have players move Lara across both vertical and horizontal planes within various puzzle grids, as enemies also home in on her. Lara Croft GO was formerly made available on iOS, Android and Windows PC in August of 2015.
