In a post on the Playstation.Blog, Sean Murray from Hello Games has announced that No Man’s Sky is coming to PlayStation 4 on June 21st.
The game is set to be the largest ever made, comprising of trillions of suns, galaxies, and planets, each with their own ecology, animals, and minerals. The game will reportedly take five billion years to complete if the player visits each planet for only one second. As GameRant points out, the Earth won’t last much past 4.6 billion years, so unless we take the PlayStation 4 to outer space, we’re not likely to ever see each planet.
From Murray’s post, No Man’s Sky will let you “trade, fight, explore, and survive in a boundless, computer-generated universe.” The game was recently shared with the press who began colonizing planets, making elemental and ecological discoveries, and trying to break through the crazy amount of content in the game.
For the first time, Hello Games also showed off some of the alien races that players will be able to communicate with, though they’ll all need to be discovered for themselves as no photos of these creatures have been released, with the exception of gameplay videos and the above screenshot of the game.
The game will also get a physical retail release for PlayStation 4, showing how much support Sony is giving this incredible title. The PC version will launch on the same date, and gamers will be able to pick up a digital code inside the $150 “Explorer’s Edition” of the game which includes a large model spaceship that you can customize to your liking with included stickers and decals.
No Man’s Sky hits PlayStation 4 and PC on June 21st.
