DC heroine, Vixen will make her live-action debut on Arrow this season

After headlining her own brief CW Seed webseries recently, DC heroine, Vixen will be making her live-action debut in The CW’s DC Television Universe very soon! Megalyn Echikunwoke will reprise her role from webseries, Vixen, an animated offshoot that inhabited the same DC Television Universe shared between Arrow, The Flash and next year’s Legends of Tomorrow, with Echikunwoke’s Vixen being featured in the upcoming fifteenth episode of Arrow, set to air on February 24th. The episode’s synopsis and title are currently unknown.

Vixen - Promo ArtVixen already encountered Stephen Amell’s Green Arrow and Grant Gustin’s Flash during the events of Vixen, with Amell and Gustin also returning to voice their respective DC heroes in animated form for the webseries. Her upcoming live-action appearance on Arrow will likely be the first time that either Arrow or The Flash acknowledges the events of the webseries, though at this point, it seems like Mari McCabe will solely be hanging out in Star City with Team Arrow in this case. This certainly doesn’t rule out her showing up on The Flash or Legends of Tomorrow later however.

Mari McCabe/Vixen made her debut in DC Comics back in 1981’s Action Comics #521. She carries a magic totem that allows her to take on the abilities and aptitude of any animal that has ever lived on Earth, allowing her things like the speed of a cheetah, the strength of a gorilla, or the senses of a wolf, among numerous other possibilities. She also has an advanced ability to heal injuries sustained in battle, making her a valuable asset to forces like the Justice League. McCabe is also a frequent love interest of one of the Green Lantern incarnations, John Stewart in the DC Animated Universe, though this arc isn’t present in DC’s source comics. She was also a love interest of the Green Arrow himself, Oliver Queen, during the alternate-timeline events of beloved Flash-themed graphic novel series, Flashpoint, giving her an affiliation to both Green Arrow and The Flash in one element of DC lore, albeit not one that’s part of the main canon.Vixen - Comics 2
