UPDATE: Double Fine has confirmed that Full Throttle: Remastered is also coming to PC at the same time as the PlayStation releases, maintaining the pattern of Grim Fandango: Remastered and Day of the Tentacle: Remastered.
Original story follows:
Double Fine has found huge success and garnered tons of praise for their recent initiative to remaster rare, difficult-to-find classics from the LucasArts adventure game catalogue. This initiative has already seen the release of Grim Fandango: Remastered at the start of this year (which we loved, in our full review of the game), and will next see the release of Day of the Tentacle: Remastered, which was confirmed to hit PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in March 2016 at the PlayStation Experience keynote this year.
As a great surprise however, Double Fine boss, Tim Schafer took to the stage at this year’s PlayStation Experience keynote, to announce that Double Fine is next going to be remastering another lost LucasArts adventure gaming classic, Full Throttle! The game is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita some time in 2016.
Full Throttle places players in control of Ben, the leader of a notorious desert biker gang, circa 2040, a dystopian future where motorized vehicles have been banned in favour of hover vehicles. Players must help save and clear the name of Ben’s gang, the Molecats, after they are accused of murdering a man named Malcolm Corley. Much of the game takes players on a journey across the fictional Route 9, where they visit numerous eccentric locations along the way.
