If there’s one very surprising dark horse hit in the PlayStation catalogue, it’s Fat Princess. An interesting little tower defense-style game on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3, Fat Princess ended up gaining widespread acclaim and a huge following, which even led to a revised PlayStation Portable edition, Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake, being released in 2010. Fat Princess herself was even a playable character in PlayStation crossover brawler, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, a testament to how beloved she is by fans.
Finally, Fat Princess is set to return on PlayStation 4, courtesy of Sony Santa Monica. Sony Santa Monica announced Fat Princess Adventures at PlayStation Experience today, a slight deviation from the series’ progenitor. The new game will be a co-operative four-player action game that appears to have minor strategic elements.
Details are thin on Fat Princess Adventures, but the game is playable at PlayStation Experience. It also offers four distinct heroes, a mage, an archer, a barbarian, and a knight. Predictably, each has different abilities and specialties, and teamwork is essential to survive in the game’s challenging, top-down adventuring and combat.
We’ll be keeping an eye on the development of Fat Princess Adventures, so keep munching on Eggplante for all news and updates on Fat Princess.
