After a wildly successful $0.99 Flash Sale earlier in the year, which allowed PlayStation gamers to get their hands on nearly thirty games for just a buck each, Sony is hosting another $0.99 Flash Sale for this weekend and Monday only!
As with the previous Flash Sale, the games being discounted are a mix of PS One Classics, digital download games for PlayStation 3, and digital download games for PlayStation Vita. Once again, no PlayStation 4 wares are included in the sale unfortunately.
In any case, you have until Tuesday, July 15th to scoop up any of these offerings for their bare minimum price! Act fast, PlayStation gamers!
The list of discounted PS One Classics titles is as follows:
– Dino Crisis
– Dino Crisis 2
– Harvest Moon: Back to Nature
– The Legend of Dragoon
– Syphon Filter
– Syphon Filter 2
– Syphon Filter 3
– Tekken 2
– Wild ARMs
– Wild ARMs 2
All of these games are playable on a PlayStation 3 or a PlayStation Portable. With the exception of The Legend of Dragoon, they all work on a PlayStation Vita as well.
Note also that Twisted Metal: Black is the lone PS2 Classic discounted for this sale. As with all other PS2 Classics, it’s only playable on a PlayStation 3.
Anyway, the list of discounted digital PlayStation 3 games are as follows:
– Double Dragon Neon
– Dyad
– Machinarium
– Malicious
– OddWorld: Munch’s Oddysee HD
– Papo & Yo
– The Cave
– Thomas Was Alone
– ToeJam & Earl
– Urban Trial Freestyle
– Velocity Ultra
– Virtua Fighter 2
– Worms Revolution
Lastly, the discounted digital PlayStation Vita games are as follows:
– Machinarium
– Thomas Was Alone
– Urban Trial Freestyle
– Velocity Ultra
Note as well that Thomas Was Alone is the lone cross-buy game in the sale, netting you both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions with a single $0.99 purchase of either.
Obviously, you might as well scoop up any of these games that you’re interested in, since it really doesn’t get better than selling them for a buck. Among the PS One Classics, The Legend of Dragoon is an outrageous steal, being a large-scale RPG and a cult PlayStation classic. Wild ARMs is also presenting superb value, and while it’s not as good, Wild ARMs 2 also awards you with tens of RPG play hours for just a single dollar. That’s before the almost limitless amount of time you could spend playing Harvest Moon: Back to Nature as well!
Frankly, all of the discounted PS One Classics are worth playing and are all great games! Twisted Metal: Black is also a strong offering for those nostalgic for the PS2 era, which is why it’s a shame that it’s the only PS2 Classic that’s part of the sale.
Among the dedicated PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita games, Thomas Was Alone and Velocity Ultra are both superb indie titles that you should take a chance on. The rest of them are slightly less impressive, though they’re at least good. Double Dragon Neon is a fun and silly beat ’em up, OddWorld: Munch’s Oddysee HD is another fun romp that’s a good way to prepare for the soon-releasing OddWorld: New ‘n’ Tasty!, Machinarium is a strong, albeit short point-and-click adventure, and lastly, former ‘Sega kids’ should definitely invest in ToeJam & Earl, a tough, but fun Sega Genesis classic that’s great to play with a buddy!
Regardless however, remember that you only have a few days to enjoy the discounts. Don’t miss them!
Eggplante will continue to spy high-profile sales on PlayStation platforms and otherwise.
