Intel unveils Core Ultra 200V laptop CPUs

Intel has unveiled its latest laptop processors, previously known as Lunar Lake, as the Core Ultra 200V series, specifically focusing on AI performance, compatibility, and power efficiency.

The chips focus on preserving battery life while still delivering ultra-thin designs alongside what Intel is calling a massive leap in graphics performance care of Intel Arc graphics.

“Intel’s newest Core Ultra processors set the industry standard for mobile AI and graphics performance … to provide consumers with a no-compromise AI PC experience.” – Michelle Johnston Holthaus, Intel executive vice president and general manager of the Client Computing Group

The chips also boast native Wi-Fi 7 (5 Gig) support and Thunderbolt Share.

Battery testing perhaps tells the most interesting story, as Intel claims that their new CPU can last up to 40% longer in office productivity tasks than AMD’s HX 370, despite a slightly smaller battery in their test machine.

Over 20 of the world’s leading PC manufacturers will be releasing over 80 designs that utilize a variant of the Core Ultra 200V series processor, all of which are eligible for Copilot+ PC features updates in November free of charge.

Pre-orders begin today with systems available globally in physical retail and online at over 30 global retailers starting September 24.
