PlayStation State of Play Recap [5.30.2024]

Earlier today, Sony live-streamed another iteration of its State of Play presentations. In doing so, they revealed new titles coming to PlayStation 5 and PSVR2, and also announced new details about others we’d known about.

If you missed it, here’s a recap:

Concord:

Firewalk Studios’ multiplayer FPS may have been revealed last year, but it didn’t receive any gameplay footage until today. You can see it in their mixed cutscene and gameplay footage trailer for the 5v5 shooter starring alien misfits.

Concord is headed to PC and PS5, and will arrive on August 23rd.

God of War: Ragnarok:

This September 19th, the 2022 epic, God of War: Ragnarok, will come to PC. It will do so with all of the features one could hope for, including super ultrawide display support and Nvidia DLSS 3.7, AMD FSR 3.1, and Intel XESS 1.3. That, plus the Valhalla DLC.

Astro Bot:

Astro, the star of the popular pack-in PS5 game, Astro’s Playroom, will return in a new game. They’re calling it Astro Bot, and it looks quite interesting. In fact, not only can Astro transform into a PS5 console, but he can also become popular PlayStation characters like Aloy, Kratos and Nathan Drake.

Astro Bot comes to PlayStation 5 on September 6th.

Marvel Rivals:

Marvel and NetEase will bring their team-based hero (and villain) shooter to PS5 and Xbox Series later this year. A beta will occur in July.

Monster Hunter: Wilds:

Check out the first gameplay footage from 2025’s open world Monster Hunter: Wilds.

Silent Hill 2:

Alongside a spooky new trailer, Bloober’s Silent Hill 2 remake has received a release date of October 8th.

Dynasty Warriors:

The Dynasty Warriors series has been quiet since 2018, but that’s about to change with Dynasty Warriors: Origins. It’s coming to Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 and PC next year.

Path of Exile 2:

The sequel to the popular, free-to-play action RPG/dungeon crawler is confirmed for PS5. Grinding Gear Games has even promised early access this summer.

Set years after the events of the first game, Path of Exile 2 will task players with destroying corruption in a fantasy world.

Until Dawn Remastered:

We previously shared that Until Dawn is being remastered for PS5 and Windows PC. Today, we saw the new and improved horror classic in action.

Where Winds Meet:

Originally revealed in 2022, this Wuxian style open world RPG has been confirmed for PS5.

Infinity Nikki:

Dress up and explore a fantastical world with a furry friend in Infinity Nikki. The open would dress up RPG is coming to PlayStation 5, and a beta test will begin soon.

Ballad of Antara:

Newly revealed today, this new Soulslike is in development with the folks behind Pascal’s Wager. It’s targeting a 2025 release.

“A faraway land is on the verge of being lost to a conflict from eons ago, and the invasion that followed it. Embark on a perilous journey, seek towering divine creatures, to reclaim the twisted and lost fundamentals of the world.”

Alien: Rogue Incursion:

This previously revealed VR game is described as being an “intense, single player action game.” It’s also the first Aliens game designed for VR, and will be released later this year.

Check out some new gameplay below.

Behemoth:

We got a good look at gameplay from Skydance’s Behemoth, which is coming to PSVR2 later this year.
