According to insider Geoff Keighley, Ubisoft has made the tough decision to cancel one of its in-development projects. A pretty big one at that, too.
Geoff has tweeted that Tom Clancy’s The Division: Heartland — which was to be the next entry in the somewhat popular massively online shooter series — is no longer in development.
<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet”><p lang=”en” dir=”ltr”>Ubisoft has canceled The Division: Heartland. <a href=”https://t.co/zsrJQZYuCa”>pic.twitter.com/zsrJQZYuCa</a></p>— Geoff Keighley (@geoffkeighley) <a href=”https://twitter.com/geoffkeighley/status/1790782586907726288?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw”>May 15, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src=”https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js” charset=”utf-8″></script>
The game was originally planned as a free-to-play standalone spinoff. It was announced in May of 2021, and was in the works at Red Storm Entertainment.
This is unfortunate news for fans of The Division games.
