2010 - Our first time sitting in a press event in person, E3 2010 represented the announcement of a new, slimmer Xbox 360 (which they gave to everyone in the audience), the official release of Kinect (later that year), and the final instalment of Bungie’s work on Halo with Reach.

Microsoft will close the Xbox 360 Store next year

After what will have been more than 18 years, Microsoft will close the Xbox 360 Store. What does this mean for us, as gamers?

On July 29, 2024, Xbox will stop supporting the ability to purchase new games, DLC, and other entertainment content from the Xbox 360 Store on the console and the Xbox 360 Marketplace (marketplace.xbox.com)

Related to this change, the Microsoft Movies & TV app will no longer function on Xbox 360, which means TV and movie content will no longer be viewable on your Xbox 360 after July 29th, 2024.

That said, purchased Xbox 360 games (and DLC) will still be playable on Xbox 360 consoles, Xbox Ones and the Xbox Series, provided they’re backwards compatible.

Folks will also still be able to play online multiplayer on these titles, provided their servers are still active. Furthermore, backwards compatible 360 games will still be available for purchase on other consoles.
