The advertised highlight of today’s PlayStation State of Play presentation was none other than a lengthy Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League video. What ended up hitting the Internet is a six minute-long gameplay segment, wherein all of the members of this zany Suicide Squad take on a shared enemy, that being an evil version of Flash, his massive robot and both tanks and helicopters.
When you sit down to watch this over-the-top action, you’ll get a good idea of how each of the game’s different playable characters perform, their unique abilities and how co-op will work. There’s a surprising amount of gunplay to be seen, too, in what is much more of a shooter than ever expected. Then again, we don’t normally think of guns when we think about game set within a comics/superhero-filled universe.
Still, Kill the Justice League looks a lot more like a fast-paced third-person shooter than we expected, even with its aerial elements and different characters. There’s lots of shooting at different targets to be seen within just this one clip.
Here’s another interesting video, which goes behind-the-scenes of the game and discusses it from the ground up. A developer diary, or deep dive, of sorts, it provides a lot of information about this game and its story, which takes place several years after the conclusion of Batman: Arkham Knight.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is scheduled to release on May 26th, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC.
