Konami has announced multiple Silent Hill projects

After a lengthy hiatus, and what many thought was the death of the franchise, Konami is bringing Silent Hill back with a vengeance.

During its Silent Hill focused presentation today, the former gaming giant announced multiple new projects set within the creepy ghost town. It started with a remake of Silent Hill 2 — one of the best survival horror games ever made — which is being developed by Bloober Team (Layers of Fear) and will be a timed PlayStation 5 exclusive. After that, the talk moved on to a new movie called Return to Silent Hill, which is said to be about a young man who returns home.

Those announcements were joined by news of other Silent Hill games, including Silent Hill: Townfall, from No Code (Observation and Stories Untold) and Silent Hill f. The latter project’s trailer showed a young girl entering the foggy town before being consumed by tendrils and some sort of floral growth.

That wasn’t all, either. Konami also confirmed that a game called Silent Hill: Ascension is in the works, and that it will be a “ live, real-time interactive series” where if you screw up you die. It’s coming in 2023.

This all makes us very, very happy.
