Thanks to collaboration with Microsoft, Valve’s new Steam Deck supports Xbox Cloud Gaming, bringing Xbox Game Pass titles to the handheld.
The handheld doesn’t run Windows in its stock configuration, so to make the Xbox Cloud Gaming magic happen, Microsoft used the Linux version of its browser, Edge, which only had its Linux debut at the tail end of 2021.
Windows support was just recently announced, which would be a native way to install and run Xbox Game Pass titles for those who are less interested in streaming them from the cloud.
Xbox Cloud Gaming requires an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, which is $14.99 USD per month and includes Xbox Live Gold, an EA Play subscription, as well as members-only discounts, and the ability to download or stream games to console or PC, including the Steam Deck.
