God of War TV adaptation may be coming to Amazon Prime Video

According to Deadline, the famed PlayStation God of War franchise may be heading to Prime Video in the form of a live-action television series.

The project, currently said to be in negotiations, is in the works from producers Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus (The Expanse) and showrunner Race Judkins (The Wheel of Time). Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions, naturally, would also be collaborating on the project.

Neither studio, nor Amazon, had any comment at the time of Deadline’s report.

With HBO heading up The Last of Us‘ television debut next year and Peacock recently securing the rights to a Twisted Metal series, not to mention Halo‘s imminent debut on Paramount+ at the end of the month and Netflix’s adaptation of Resident Evil, there’s no shortage of game to live-action properties in the coming year or two.

Without concrete details on the show, or if it’s even been green-lit at this point, there’s no telling what kind of release schedule we may be looking at. We do know, however, if anyone is set to play Kratos themselves, Jason Momoa is the only choice in our minds.
