We may have just learned the name and details of Call of Duty: Vanguard, but it seems we now also know what next year’s iteration of Call of Duty will be. If these rumours are true, it’ll be a sequel to 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot.
According to an insider named Tom Henderson, whose story has since been corroborated by both VG247 and Eurogamer, Infinity Ward will be back at the helm for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in 2022. They’ve reported that the project is currently code named Project Cortez, as a nod to the 1994 Tom Clancy movie, ‘Clear and Present Danger.’ Additionally, it’s also been stated that the game will follow US forces as they battle Colombian drug cartels.
