Microsoft wasn’t finished with big reveals when its gamescom 2021 livestream finished. No, the gaming giant decided to save something for later. Something big.
It’s been revealed that Halo Infinite — the long-awaited new entry into one of gaming’s biggest series — will launch on Wednesday, December 8th. When it does, it will land and begin firing on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows. Of course, it will also be a day one addition to Game Pass.
Those in the market for some Halo themed gear will be happy to hear that new, Halo Infinite inspired Xbox content is en route.
First up is the Halo Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 pad, which is designed to look like Master Chief’s iconic armour. This special accessory will set you back a whopping $259.99 Canadian, plus tax.
Perhaps the biggest announcement — outside of the game’s release date, of course — pertains to the existence of a limited edition Halo Infinite Xbox Series X console and controller bundle. Releasing in mid-November, this hardware set includes an exclusive controller, a themed console, and a digital copy of the game. It’s going to set you back an extra $50, if you can find it, and went out of stock almost immediately. We weren’t even able to place a pre-order, despite trying multiple times.
The Xbox Series X – Halo Infinite Limited Edition Bundle retails for $649.99 CAD.
As you watch the video below, you’ll notice that this unique console features black, gray and gold colouring on its lower half, as well as what looks like black with stars upon it on the top half. The gold is etched in, while the other colours are in stylized blocks. Moving on, its exclusive controller — which will apparently not be sold separately, outside of this bundle — maintains the same colour scheme and general design, except without the stars.
