Through press release means, Activision has confirmed that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 is being upgraded for next-gen consoles. In the same email, the publishing giant also revealed that the remakes are heading to Nintendo Switch.
The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X versions of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 will feature 120FPS at 1080p and 60FPS at 4K, plus high-fidelity atmospheric enhancements, meaning that players will see sharper dynamic shadows, reflections and lens flares, and enhanced skater textures. Those with interest can purchase the cross-gen version for $10 more, and will receive some bonuses for doing so, including:
- Secret skater: Ripper (the Powell-Peralta mascot)
- Retro gear for Create-a-Skater mode
- Retro skins for Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen and Steve Caballero
Those who’ve already purchased the deluxe edition of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 (for Xbox One or PlayStation 4) will be able to upgrade for free, when the next-gen versions launch on March 26th. That is, unless they happen to live in Japan.
All we know about the Nintendo Switch version is that it’s set for release sometime in 2021.
