Fans have been wanting a remastered version of Diablo II (2000) for quite some time and, as of tonight, we now know that one is in the works. It’s fittingly called Diablo II: Resurrected.
Announced during this weekend’s online-only Blizzcon 2021, this project seems to have been in development for some time now. We assume that because it’s expected to launch this year, for Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC, along with Nintendo Switch. Interestingly enough, there will be cross-progression between the PC and console versions.
Diablo II: Resurrected will include the base game and its expansion, Lord of Destruction. It’s not the only franchise effort in production, either, as a mobile game (Diablo Immortal) and a proper sequel (Diablo IV) were previously confirmed.
