The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope just released before Halloween, and now we know what the third game in Supermassive Games’ cinematic horror series will be. According to today’s news, the next of several planned installments will go by the name The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes.
That said, if you played through Little Hope you’ve likely already seen the teaser trailer and know this news.
House of Ashes is said to be set in Iraq, during the early 2000s’ War on Terror. There, we will find fictional CIA operative Rachel King, as she and an elite team of fellow soldiers investigate rumours of an underground weapons facility. As they explore something unexpected happens, and the group is swallowed up by an earthquake. One that sends them underground, to an ancient Sumerian temple.
“We are thrilled to reveal this third game within The Dark Pictures Anthology. Like the previous stories, Man of Medan and Little Hope, House of Ashes will bring a brand-new story and cast of characters to players, with its own unique twists and turns, and a new threat for the characters to face. We can’t wait to share more details about the story!” stated Supermassive Games CEO Pete Samuels.
Like Little Hope, which starred Will Poulter, and both Man of Medan (Shawn Ashmore) and Until Dawn (Rami Malek, Hayden Panettiere) before it, Supermassive Games’ next project is sure to star at least one familiar face. Based on the trailer, we’re expecting it will be Disney Musical star Ashley Tisdale, because that’s who Rachel King resembles.
Stay tuned for more information pertaining to The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes, which is targeting a 2021 release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5 and PC.
