As expected, the next Call of Duty game will be another Black Ops. In fact, it’ll go by the name of Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War, and will be officially revealed at the end of this month.
Details aren’t known at this time, but given the subtitle we can guess what the setting, time period and context of the campaign will be. That is, if there is a single player or co-op campaign to be found within this game. Black Ops 4 was really underwhelming without one, so here’s hoping. At this point, though, all we know is that this next instalment will be “inspired by real events.”
We’ll learn more on August 26th, as that’s when the planned reveal will take place in digital fashion. For now, make sure to check out the game’s teaser trailer, which doesn’t answer a lot of questions.

Granted, none of this will likely come as a surprise given Activision’s track record, and the fact that Doritos accidentally leaked the Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War name close to a month ago. We expect a new Call of Duty game every year, after all, but will have to wait to find out if this one will be next-gen, cross-gen or what. It’ll likely be the latter, though.
