Play online without Xbox Live during Microsoft’s ‘Big Gaming Weekend’

Despite Microsoft stating that it’s not going to change its current Xbox Live Gold system, and the strange disappearance of 12 month subscriptions, Xbox Live is being waived for the current weekend. This is happening as part of a planned ‘Big Gaming Weekend,’ which will allow all Xbox One users to play online from today through to August 10th.

Although the trailer shows multiple popular games and promotes them as having been unlocked (for online play), we assume that any online-enabled Xbox One game will be unlocked during this period. Don’t quote us on that, though.

While you’re here, make sure to check out the recently released video that promotes playing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate titles on Android devices, through CloudGaming. This option will unlock on September 15th.
