Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will take the series in a Norse-themed direction

The rumours and dreams came true: Ubisoft has revealed that the next Assassin’s Creed game will, in fact, take place in a Norse setting. It’ll also have a pretty badass name, with that being Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.

Although details are unavailable at this point in time, we’re expecting to see Valhalla‘s first true trailer tomorrow. The game was only revealed today, through a short livestream, which showed artists digitally painting some of its official artwork.

Based on the artwork, we can expect more epic battles on both land and sea, including ones set on Viking longships. That, as well as Norse weaponry and quests from the Gods. It also looks like our main protagonist will be a bearded badass carrying an axe.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will likely be released onto Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC. We’re not sure exactly when this will occur, though. Perhaps later this year, or in 2021. Either way, you’ll be able to see its first trailer tomorrow morning at 8am Pacific Standard Time.
