Since its reveal, Cyberpunk 2077 has arguably been the most talked about and most anticipated upcoming video game. Of course, it didn’t hurt that those behind the new IP partnered with beloved Canadian actor, Keanu Reeves, and made him their surprise E3 guest.
Unfortunately, those who’ve been counting the days until Cyberpunk‘s original, mid-April release date, will have to wait a while longer, as we just received word that it’s been delayed. We’re not just talking a brief delay either, as it’s been stated that the game will instead release on September 17th. Thus, it’s now become an anticipated fall/holiday 2020 title, and will make a busy season even busier.
“We are currently at a stage where the game is complete and playable, but there’s still work to be done,” the studio tweeted. “Night City is massive — full of stories, content, and places to visit, but due to the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish playtesting, fixing, and polishing. We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation, and postponing launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect.”
Stay tuned for more information pertaining to Cyberpunk 2077 as it continues to develop.
