Although the focus of yesterday’s Pokemon Direct was the series’ most recent, flagship games, Pokemon Sword & Shield, that didn’t prevent Nintendo from announcing something different. That said, their newly revealed project isn’t a brand new mainline experience like those two and is, instead, a remake of a previous title.
Dubbed Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, the upcoming Nintendo Switch remake will combine the fan favourite games, Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team. Both were released back in 2006, for the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS. If you’re unfamiliar with them, they were basically roguelikes, which tasked players with combing dungeons for loot while dealing with just one life.
Through Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, Pokefans can look forward to updated visuals and a brand new art style. Both can be experienced through a demo, which is now available, whereas the full game won’t release until the 6th of March.
