The rumoured, two season collection of Telltale’s Batman series has finally been revealed, after it skipped the other night’s Game Awards. As such, we can now confirm that the speculators were accurate.
Dubbed The Telltale Batman Shadows Edition — which is certainly a bit of a mouthful — it bundles both seasons of Batman: The Telltale Series into one digital package. The thing also adds a brand new noir mode, which turns everything black and white, making Bruce Wayne’s adventure feel more like a film noir. Don’t expect it to be completely grayscale, though, because there will be some flashes of colour.
It’s been said that the aforementioned visual setting will be added into the original version of the game by way of free DLC.
“We’re excited to be able to build and continue the legacy of this iconic Telltale Games franchise by launching The NEW Telltale Batman Shadows Edition today,” said Brian Waddle, Chief Revenue Officer at Telltale. “For the holiday season, we wanted to offer fans old and new a fun twist on the series with the first of many planned initiatives. All of us at Telltale are working hard to build a great studio, delivering great content. We hope everyone will stay tuned for more announcements in the coming months and, for now, enjoy playing in the Shadows.”
The Telltale Batman Shadows Edition is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. A Switch version is also planned.
