After several years of development, The Last of Us II now has a release date, and it’s one that isn’t far off. In fact, it’s merely a handful of months away.
During today’s PlayStation State of Play stream, it was revealed that Naughty Dog’s hotly anticipated sequel to its 2013 masterpiece will be released on February 21, 2020. Furthermore, the remastered version of the original game will be made available to PlayStation Plus subscribers, as a freebie, early next month. It will be joined by MLB: The Show 2019, as October’s PlayStation Plus offerings.
As is often the case with triple-A titles, several different editions of The Last of Us II will be made available for purchase. Ranging from the Standard Edition to collector’s editions featuring a backpack and a statue, there’s something for everyone. This includes a Digital Deluxe Edition, which was to be expected as well. What you can mostly expect from them all, though, is some extra in-game items and different amounts of physical goodies, like stickers, pins, etc. One of the constants happens to be an exclusive theme.
Along with this news dump came a harrowing new trailer for the game, which you can see above all of this text stuff. To say that it’s great, and incredibly impressive, would almost be to undersell it.
Stay tuned for more information pertaining to The Last of Us II.
