Those who’ve been patiently awaiting news about Final Fantasy VIII Remastered will be happy to hear that it’s scheduled to launch later this year. This information was revealed during Square Enix’s E3 press conference, prior to being issued as a press release.
Updated for modern devices, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered will bring the game’s classic story to new platforms. It will do so with newly rendered visuals that are said to bring the game’s characters to life.
In Final Fantasy VIII, the military nation of Galbadia has declared war on the Dukedom of Dollet, who must hire the mercenary force, SeeD. Squall Leonhart, a new member of SeeD, together with his friends and Rinoa Heartilly, a member of a resistance group, get pulled into the war, unaware of their fated task to save the world.
Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is being developed for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
