EA announces The Sims 4’s Island Living expansion

The Sims are heading to the tropics, for some fun in the sun and some laid back vibes.

During its E3 2019 livestream, EA took some time to talk about the future of The Sims 4. This led to the reveal of The Sims 4: Island Living, a new expansion that takes the avatars out of the hectic world of capitalism and sends them to an idyllic island named Sulani. There, they’ll be able to swim, tan, collect seashells, race aqua zips (aka. jet skis), build sandcastles and hang out with both dolphins and mermaids.

New career options will open up on the island, including the expected: being a lifeguard. The conservationist career path will also be another option, and will allow players’ Sims to clean up the digital environment around them.

Of course, one will also be able to dress up in themed outfits, enjoy local cuisine and explore local legends and folklore.

Also, with this being Pride Week, EA took the opportunity to announce a couple of things that are heading The Sims‘ way. First up is gender neutral washrooms, which will be joined by Pride wear. This content will be coming to The Sims 4, The Sims FreePlay and The Sims Mobile.

The PC and Mac versions of The Sims 4 will receive the Island Living expansion on June 21st. Console players will have to wait until July 6th.
