Microsoft has struck gold with the Xbox Game Pass, and that success is of no real shock to anyone. Thus, many are surely wondering what will be added to the subscription service when the calendar turns to June 2018.
The highlight, if you will, is said to be Next Up Hero. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s been described as a roguelike dungeon crawler in the vein of The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure, so that means it has co-op. According to the game’s PR people, it will pit players against “tough-as-nails monsters,” and will employ a mechanic that will allow you to turn your fallen heroes into computer controlled allies. As you pile up the deaths (which you likely will, as that seems to be the idea), you’ll eventually be able to turn those numerous corpses into a decent sized army.
So, what else is coming then? Well, there’s Mega Man Legacy Collection 2, which compiles Mega Man 7, 8, 9 and 10. It will be flanked by racer MotoGP 17, hard as Hell Martian RPG, The Technomancer, post-apocalyptic Wasteland 2 Director’s Cut and the family friendly Disneyland Adventures. That is, the Xbox One port of the former Xbox 360/Kinect exclusive.
It’s a decent and somewhat eclectic mix, but won’t stand out as being one of Xbox Game Pass’ better months. Then again, they can’t all be knockouts.
