Capcom kills Puzzle Fighter mobile, opts to funnel resources into Dead Rising

Things are pointing to Dead Rising 5 being in development at Capcom Vancouver, now that the publisher has opted to kill Puzzle Fighter (on mobile) in order to funnel its utilized resources and manpower into that zombie filled franchise.

“As the studio is dedicating its focus to our flagship Dead Rising franchise, we have decided to sunset Puzzle Fighter.

“Firstly, we’d like to thank all the fans who have supported and enjoyed our Puzzle Fighter mobile game thus far,” Capcom posted on its Capcom-Unity blog. “As huge fans of Puzzle Fighter ourselves, the team here at Capcom Game Studio Vancouver is proud to have created a new version of the game that’s unique and enjoyable.”

This means that Puzzle Fighter will be removed from app stores on July 1st, and that its rumoured Xbox One and PS4 versions are unlikely to see the light of day. This is good news for those of us who love Dead Rising, though, because it’d be great to hear about Dead Rising 5 at June’s E3 expo.
