Those who’ve been waiting for Mulaka to release won’t have to wait much longer, as Lienzo has announced exact launch dates for each version of its colourful action/adventure game, alongside the debut of a brand new trailer.
Mulaka is as unique looking as it is unique sounding, thanks to incredibly colourful and artistic visuals that portray the history and mythology of Mexico’s indigenous Tarahumara people. What has resulted from this is advertised as “a compelling and fast-paced action adventure game that sports fierce hand-to-hand combat with unique mythological beings, a vibrant, low-poly visual style, and the ability to transform into a range of powerful demigods, all while maintaining authentic indigenous representation.”
-
Become the legend: Harness the renowned athletic talents of the Tarahumara as you engage in fast-paced platforming and hand-to-hand combat.
-
Explore Sierra Tarahumara: Traverse a 3D world inspired by the legendary, real-life landscapes of northern Mexico, rendered in a vibrant, low-poly visual style.
-
Based on real mythology: Draw upon the powers of demigods and battle fearsome creatures pulled from the rich lore of the Tarahumara people.
-
Live the culture: From narration in their indigenous language, to music unique to the region, experience an authentic representation of Tarahumara culture.
-
Mix up your gameplay: Leverage the Tarahumara’s physical prowess, demigod transformations, puzzle-solving and the crafting of magic potions as you save humanity from the corruption plaguing it.
Lienzo’s passion project will come to fruition when Mulaka lands on PS4 & Steam on February 27th, Switch on March 1st and Xbox One on March 2nd. It’s important to note that part of its proceeds have also been earmarked for non-governmental agencies that are working to preserve the Tarahumara culture.
