Sometime later this year, Nintendo Switch owners will be able to paint the town red, blue, green, yellow and combinations of the bunch. This is due to the fact that de Blob is heading to the portable slash console, thanks to a continued partnership between THQ Nordic and BlitWorks.
A release date has not yet been affixed to this Switch version of de Blob, so all we can tell you is that it’s expected to release this year. In fact, the press release that its PR firm sent out simply states that “THQ Nordic is pleased to announce that the remastered version of de Blob will be coming to Nintendo Switch in 2018.”
Those who’ve never played either of the de Blob games should know that both titles are more relaxing than they are involved or challenging. The idea behind them is that one must help an alien being restore colour to a world that has been drained of all of its hues by an evil dictator and his INKT Corporation. This is done by bouncing around then slamming oneself down on top of colour bots, which infuse the rotund creature with ink that he can then use to paint anything in his vicinity. There is, of course, more to the games than just that, including enemies and colour specific challenges, but that describes the crux of the experience.
