In their Direct mini from earlier today, Nintendo unveiled that the “fan-favourite” (we don’t know where they’re getting that from) Hyrule Warriors is coming to Switch early this year.
Dubbed the ultimate version of the game and aptly titled Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, it includes all content from the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game, including 29 playable characters, every map, weapon, and mission from previous iterations.
The game will be playable in 1080p when docked and 720p in handheld mode. The lower resolution will likely lend to a better framerate, something the 3DS version of the game, Hyrule Warriors: Legends really suffered from, especially on the older handhelds. In docked mode, however, running at full-HD may be troublesome for the system, especially if it’s been revved up to include higher-polygon count models.
There will also be two-player split-screen multiplayer available in tabletop mode, with each player commanding their own single Joy-Con.
Hyrule Warriors for Switch will also launch with new Breath of the Wild outfits for both Link and Zelda, both in their light blue garb from Nintendo’s latest Zelda outing.
Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition launches on Nintendo Switch this Spring 2018.
