2007 - The Call of Duty franchise seems like it has had yearly instalments for the past thirty years, but it wasn’t until E3 2007 that people really started to take notice. This was the year that Modern Warfare was announced, bringing the franchise to the Microsoft stage for the first of many Call of Duty introductions. Oh, and Halo 3 was announced. No biggie.

Halo 6 likely won’t be released this year

From the sounds of things, Halo 6 is not in Microsoft’s plans for 2018. Thus, fans may well have to wait until 2019 before they’ll be able to experience the next evolution of spartan-on-spartan multiplayer warfare.

This news was briefly hinted upon during writer Jeff Easterling’s latest blog update. There, the 343 employee — who is better known through the moniker GrimBrother One — stated that the company has lots of fun and adventures in store for fans during 2018, but “not those adventures.”

“2018 has arrived and with it, the promise of new fun times to be had and adventures to be embarked upon. No, not those adventures, but plenty of exciting ones regardless – some which might surprise you more than others.”

Fans are sure to be disappointed by this, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to look forward to during 2018. After all, we have the Halo TV series to look forward to.
