Earlier today, the Coalition revealed some details pertaining to its October update for Gears of War 4. This time around, though, there was more than just talk about new maps, as it was also revealed that this month’s improvements will include the game’s Xbox One X enhancements.
Said update — which is available to download now — will bolster Gears of War 4 with two new maps, those being Fuel Depot and Lift Apex. These maps, both of which featured prominently in previous games, won’t be made available to the public until October 30th, giving season pass owners several days’ worth of exclusivity in the meantime.
It was also mentioned that double XP and credit bonus rewards will be going the way of the dodo bird, at least for now. In their place, the Coalition plans to implement a ‘Map Owned’ feature that will offer permanent XP and credit increases on maps that players own.
That said, little is truly known about the big news, that being Gears‘ Xbox One X enhancements. What we can say for sure, though, is that the update will allow for performance improvements and 4K resolution, thanks to the much talked about console’s well advertised power.
